The MBA
The MBA was invented at Harvard in 1908 as a programme for building judgment under uncertainty: put a student in front of a real, undecided, messy situation and make them reason their way to a decision. Over the following century, it lost its nerve and became a library of things to learn. Now – thanks to AI- the library has no walls and no fee. Every framework, every case, every model ever taught sits just intelligent, managed prompts away from you, your competitors, and your competitors' interns.
Knowing has been commoditised. So, more surprisingly, has understanding.
What is left is judgment, and it has never been worth more. It’s a powerful and desperately needed skill.
It’ll be the subject of my new book this fall.
