Shock. Horror.

I chose never to use PowerPoint-and I never did.

I had experimented with it; I had trialled it, and eventually I decided against it. I did not use it in my training courses, keynotes, or consultancy. That decision often caused surprise and questions, even though clients loved and applauded the results of my ‘unplugged’ offerings, which they found ‘engaging, refreshing and high value.

So, you might ask, Nicholas, why not?

The answer is subtle and layered, and much will be contained in a ‘Companion’ book planned for September. For now, let us acknowledge what you have experienced many times: PowerPoint brings out the worst in 9 out of 10 presenters, causing them to read from a slide rather than create an experience that adds value for the audience.
